Under 12 – Seaview Celtic 5 Villa 1 (Also u.13, U. 14 & Div. 2A match reports.) Conor McHugh created a club record this morning. For the third consecutive league match Conor scored a goal in the first 4 minutes. Against Southend and Mooncoin he scored in the second minute of each match, it took him an extra 2 minutes today, the fourth minute, before he scored against Villa. Michael O’Grady and Jack McGrath scored one each mid-way through this half. Villa created three good chances, they hit the side netting with two and Leon Bible brought off a super save that was heading for the top corner with their third chance. Defenders Tom Browne, William Power, Mika Florich & Bryan Prendergast were under pressure but succeeded in keeping the lively Villa strikers to a single goal which they scored in the second half. Ollie Buck moved into mid-field after the break and scored our forth eleven minutes into this half. Mid fielders Hayden Lenihan, Patrick Purcell & Josh Crowley were busy helping out our defence in the second half with Villa on top in mid-field. The visitors scored a well-deserved goal but Michael O’Grady put the result beyond doubt scoring his second and out fourth ten minutes from time. Paul Og Clooney was man of the match, he played in goal in the second half and brought off several outstanding saves and was complimented by some of the Villa parents for his performance. Under 13 – Tramore 1 Seaview Celtic 3 We played a thrilling match on Wednesday evening where play swung from end to end with plenty of goalmouth incidents and some excellent football played by both teams. The only goal of the first half was scored by Iarla Hennessy from a Dylan Murphy corner. After the interval Tramore had a couple of chances but we were dangerous on the break, goals by Jack McGrath and Adan Croke Drohan made sure we took home the three points. Under 14 – Kilmacthomas 0 Seaview Celtic 4 Manager Stephen Rainey was very pleased with today’s performance against a very big and physically strong Kilmacthomas side. We played into a strong wind in the first half, keeper Simon Burns and his back four of Sean Comerford, Adam Rainey, James Fitzgerald & Danny Halligan had to be on their toes throughout this half as they faced wave upon wave of Kilmacthomas attacks. When Danny went off injured we had the versatile Dylan Colfer on hand to take over at full back. Going in at half time with a nil all score line was a relief to all. After the break Dylan Murphy and James Fitzgerald were our most creative players as we scored three without reply in the first 15 minutes of this half. Iarla Hennessy, Ben Lees, Adam Croke Drohan gave us a comfortable lead. Dean Fine and Dylan McCarthy worked hard for the team before a super direct free by Adam Green put us 4 up and three points in the bag. Div. 2A – Tycor 3 Seaview Celtic 4 The only two unbeaten teams in this division came head to head in Tycor today. Believe it or not but we were 3 – 1 down before a great revival saw Kevin Burns team score three without reply and as a result sit top of the league table with 12 points from 4 games. We were all over the place in the first half, Tycor scored first, Niall Power equalized, then Tycor scored two more to lead 3 - 1. Goals from Niall and Jamie Burns brought us level the the break. Niall completed his hat-trick in the second half to take home three points and the match ball.
